NCG achieve Operational Excellence with the power of Vista Cloud’s enterprise capabilities

For more than 30 years, NCG Cinema has been providing stellar experiences for the big screen. From creating the first multiplex theatre in Owosso back in 1985, NCG have grown to a circuit of over 25 sites across 9 states—including the latest addition of NCG Citrus Park opening in March this year. As they continue to grow and excel, NCG harnessed new technologies to keep their operations at the head of the game.

NCG Cinema was the first cinema chain in North America to make the move to Vista Cloud, embracing the full journey from an on-premise solution to the cloud. The results have been excellent.

Vista Cloud’s Core Confidence lifts the weight of maintenance

The move to Vista Cloud has meant a considerable shift in how NCG engage with the management of their circuit and technology. With Vista Cloud’s robust core and in-house handling of maintenance ensuring stability and ease of operations, NCG are free to focus on the areas of their operations they want to spend time on.

With that freedom and flexibility, and new opportunities open to them, NCG have built out their Loyalty offering to engage their moviegoers. Revitalising a previously limited loyalty program to become central, with their discounts, promotions, and direct communications all integrated into their loyalty offering, NCG have seen great success with lively engagement from their moviegoers.

NCG are excited by the doors opened with the move to Vista and the capabilities of Vista Cloud. Key among them are the possibilities unlocked by reporting with Horizon, and direct access to their operational data. Reporting across a large, growing circuit is complex, and previously posed difficulties with a lack of flexibility in their reporting capability. But the ability to connect real-time information to their reporting dashboards, and create custom reports with ease through Horizon has empowered NCG to dive deeper.

“We’re still scratching the surface of what we can do,” Jeremy Curtis said, excited by the prospects of Horizon. “It becoming a tool we use on a day-to-day basis could be the greatest benefit of Cloud.”
