    Kirk brings a strong international film industry background acquired from 18 years with the Village Roadshow Limited Group. Kirk was formerly CEO (and prior to that, CFO) of Village Cinemas, one of the world’s leading cinema companies. Kirk was also a director of Village Cinemas and many of its subsidiaries and joint ventures throughout the world. Prior to Village Cinemas, Kirk was a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young in Australia and the UK. Kirk also advises and provides consulting services to other companies in the film and entertainment industries.

    Murray is the co-founder and product visionary of Vista Entertainment Solutions and Chief Product Officer of the Vista Group of companies. Prior to Vista, he was a founder of Madison Systems Ltd, a joint venture partner in Vista when it was formed in 1996. Murray has been dedicated full-time to Vista since Madison was sold in 2001. He has over 20 years’ experience in building innovative software for the film industry, and sits on the Vista Group board.

    Brian is one of the co-founders of the Group. He has had a long career in finance positions in the Industrial, Media, Transport and Technology sectors for listed and private companies. He operated his own consulting business for 10 years with Vista Group a major client before he joined them as a full-time employee in 2008.

    Brian was chair of the Lynfield College Board for 10 years (retired 2013) and is now on the Board of the Titirangi Golf Club (both Auckland, NZ).

  • Susan Peterson

    Susan Peterson

    Susan's management career has involved a variety of executive roles at ANZ including General Counsel and Company Secretary, General Manager of ANZ's Direct Banking Group, Chief Executive of ANZ's second registered bank in New Zealand and General Manager of ANZ's Wealth Business. Susan was also a director on many of ANZ's New Zealand subsidiary company Boards.

    In addition to Vista Group, Susan is an Independent Director for Xero, ASB Bank, Trustpower, Property for Industry and The New Zealand Merino Company. Susan is the Co-Chairman and shareholder of the fast growing start-up company Organic Initiative. Susan also chairs the Nomination and Remuneration Committee for Vista Group.

    Susan is a Tribunal Member of the NZ Markets Disciplinary Tribunal and a Trustee on the Fantail Network Trust. Susan is also a past member of the IHC Board, a ministerial appointee to the National Advisory Council for the Employment of Women and the Strategic Advisory Board of the New Zealand Heart Foundation.

    Susan's particular interest is helping fast-growing New Zealand companies to succeed in the international market place. Susan was a finalist in the 2014 Westpac New Zealand Women of Influence Awards.

    James brings strong financial expertise to the Board as well as governance experience across a broad range of industries. James also chairs the Audit and Risk Committees for Vista Group. He has had a distinguished career as an investment banker for over a decade and for eight years he’s worked in the New Zealand dairy industry in chief executive and finance roles. In addition to Vista Group, James is a director of The Warehouse Group Limited, Summerset Group Holdings Limited, and Alliance Group Limited. James is also a member of the New Zealand Markets Disciplinary Tribunal and the Investment Committee of Pencarrow Private Equity. James’ previous directorships include New Zealand Post Limited and Kiwibank Limited. He was also a Member of the Council of Victoria University of Wellington.

  • Cris Nicolli

    Cris was appointed as a non-executive director of Vista Group in February 2017. Cris brings strong expertise in the IT Industry, together with experience in growing and building multi-faceted IT-based businesses including a publicly listed ASX Company. He has a great balance of commercial and governance skills.

    Cris started his professional life in Finance and Accounting with roles in New Zealand and the UK. He subsequently moved into the IT industry and has had a significant career across the Asia Pacific region in sales, sales management, consulting, software and leadership roles including 12 years with previously ASX-listed UXC Limited – five of those years as CEO and Managing Director. Prior to UXC, Cris held senior roles with Digital/Compaq for 20 years. Having recently retired from UXC Limited, Cris is looking to provide his business skills in a non-executive capacity.

    Cris is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD) and a past member of the New Zealand Society of Accountants. He is a New Zealander who has been living in Australia for the last 30 years.

    Kimbal Riley

    Kimbal was appointed Group CEO in April 2018 following his July 2015 appointment to the role of Chief Executive of Vista Entertainment Solutions. Kimbal first joined Vista as Chief Operating Officer in November 2013. Formerly, he was COO of Orion Health, New Zealand’s largest software exporter and one of the world’s leading Health IT companies with operations on every continent and customers in over 50 countries. Kimbal was with Orion Health for seven years, during which period the company grew from 120 people to over 700, turnover increased from $20m to in excess of $100m, and offices were established in the USA, Canada, Australia, France, Spain, UK, Singapore, Japan, Dubai, and Thailand. Prior to his tenure at Orion Health Kimbal undertook senior sales and delivery roles in global software and services organisations including CSC, Compaq, EDS, and Nortel.

    Matt leads Vista’s group finance team, providing finance support and commercial guidance to the Vista ecosystem. Prior to joining Vista, Matt headed the sales, marketing and finance functions at Biomatters, a bioinformatics SaaS and subscription business, including its successful sale to the US software investor Insight Partners. Prior to that he spent five years as General Manager for Ixom NZ (formerly Orica), NZ’s largest chemicals business. Matt has a strong background in innovative and high growth technology companies; he was CFO for Wellington Drive Technologies and has held commercial, finance and technology leadership roles in Lion Nathan, Mediasoup, Sony Playstation Europe and Oracle Europe.

    Kelvin leads Vista’s legal team, providing legal support to all of Vista Group’s businesses globally. Prior to joining Vista Group, Kelvin worked in private practice for over 12 years advising listed issuers, private businesses and private equity sponsors on corporate and commercial matters as well as a wide range of significant corporate transactions, including public and private acquisitions and divestments, takeovers, and corporate structuring.

    Derek Forbes

    Derek joined Vista Group in 2000 and was involved in the creation of early versions of software for the cinema sector. Subsequently Derek transitioned to software implementation and product management within Vista Entertainment Solutions. In 2005, Derek moved to London where he established Vista’s UK office.

    There he built a team to oversee a broad European operation which introduced Vista Cinema software to new territories including Spain, Greece and Lithuania.

    Derek then moved to Los Angeles in 2009 to establish and lead Vista’s USA office. In 6 years under Derek’s leadership, Vista Entertainment Solutions grew to hold 37% share of the Large Cinema market in the US and the US-based team now exceeds 60. In 2016, Derek was appointed COO, Vista Group (based in Los Angeles), to provide additional support to the Group and business managers.

    Evan is Vista Group’s Chief People Officer with responsibility for leading the team supporting Vista in our continued focus on attracting, engaging and rewarding our great talent globally. Prior to joining Vista in 2016, Evan’s experience ranged from large listed organisations (SKYCITY Entertainment Group) and start-ups (Sovereign Insurance) as well as international experience with Pfizer (United Kingdom). While his career has primarily been in People and Culture he has also held positions in marketing, sales, programme management, change management and operations.

    Lawrence was appointed Regional Manager of Vista Entertainment Solutions, China, in 2014 when he moved back to Shanghai following several years in New Zealand in business development and management. He brings an in-depth understanding of both the New Zealand and Chinese cultures and respective business practices. The combination has opened doors to numerous new opportunities and paved the way for the formation of Vista China, a new venture with China Tencent affiliate WePiao, announced in March 2016.

    Leon joined Vista Entertainment Solutions in 2009 to assist in establishing the Vista USA Office. In subsequent years, Leon worked with Derek Forbes to grow the US market to a 37% share of the Large Cinema market including building a team of more than 60. During this time Leon held senior roles in both Operations and Sales, driving product localization and building industry partnerships. Leon became President, Vista Entertainment Solutions USA in 2016 and in May 2018 was appointed to his current global role leading Vista’s largest business.

    William Palmer


    William is the Chief Executive of Movio and co-founder with his business partner Peter Beguely.

    Prior to Movio, William established and subsequently sold a number of successful start-ups, including HRV, Connectnow and Warmo. William is highly experienced in business management, particularly during high growth phases, having nurtured businesses from conception to profitability on a number of occasions.

    William’s primary skill is business development and he is responsible for the sales function within Movio. His approach is particularly hands on and he and his team have successfully established Movio in six markets since launch.

    George joined Vista Group as the CEO of Maccs in July 2018. George has over 16 years of industry experience in the distribution of digital content, including advertising and cinema. Prior to his Group appointment, George was Managing Director of Digital Cinema, EMEA, for Deluxe where he had oversight of the Deluxe Technicolor joint venture formed in 2015. Previously, George was responsible for Technicolor's worldwide digital cinema strategy and business development, and served as Arqiva's Head of Digital Cinema. George pioneered Arqiva’s Live Event services delivering hundreds of events around the world spanning opera, ballet and sports in addition to the creation of Europe’s first electronic delivery network for cinema.

    Simon is the Chief Executive of Numero and a

    Prior to Numero, Simon held various International management roles with global organisations specialising in media channels measurement and analytical services. Specifically, Simon has more than 15 years’ experience in the entertainment industry managing theatrical box office tracking services. Specialising in International business development, Simon has launched multiple services throughout the Asia Pacific region as well as co-ordinating numerous collaborations and acquisitions to deliver to clients increased global coverage of daily box office results.

    With the launch of Numero in 2014, Simon and his team are proud to be delivering a state-of-the-art Box Office Reporting Platform utilising the Big Data technology of Vista Group Company Movio.

    Claudiu Tanasescu


    Claudiu Tanasescu is the CEO and founder of Share Dimension, the parent company of Cinema Intelligence. Claudiu started the company several years ago originally building tailor-made business applications for the financial industry. Since 2010, his focus has been the cinema industry and Cinema Intelligence, a collection of business intelligence solutions for cinema exhibitors designed to optimize forecasting, and the planning and scheduling of movies and events proven to increase revenue. Prior to starting Share Dimension, for more than 15 years, Claudiu was a technical expert and IT leader at multinationals Philips and Sustainalytics.

    Ste is the Chief Executive and founder of POWSTER, a provider of creative services to over 50 film distributors in over 40 countries and music videos and interactive content to the major music labels. Ste has led the POWSTER creative vision since its foundation in 2009, winning many prestigious awards. Ste’s primary skill is product development and innovation. Prior to POWSTER, he developed creative content for the music and brand industry and studied multimedia, computer game design and digital media.

    BCom, Marketing and Masters in Film (University of Auckland), Film Production (New York Film Academy)

    Paul is the co-founder of FLICKS, launching the product in 2005 during his final year of university. He has continued to run the company, building the product range, growing the customer base and launching in new territories.

    A filmmaker also, Paul has written/directed six short films and recently produced a feature. Paul grew up working in video stores and cinemas, landing a job as a projectionist during the start-up phase of Flicks.
